Last Sunday, 4th of December, the Plaza of Alfonso Escámez was the centre of attention of pedestrians and all those who strolled by from ten o´clock in the morning and till two o´clock in the afternoon, items of “every kind and for every liking” was offered.

The flea-market that normally takes place in Calabardina and held the last Sunday of each month has moved, in this occasion, to this central square.

According to the promoters of this initiative, in most cases foreigners, the only purpose is to “open the way to the flea-market to other people, foreigners like us, from Águilas or anywhere else”.

In the same style, the hawkers described the experience as something more than the simple event of a business deal, it is also “a place of meeting and coexistence of people with the same interests and hobbies” they declared.

This aim was reached without problems, a great number of people joined in this original way of “selling” all those items that “clutter our houses” and had chance of sharing ideas and impressions.

In this way, all those that visited the Plaza of Alfonso Escámez were able, and for “a nice price”, to buy all type of objects such as furniture, clothes or crafts.
