The bust representing King Charles III is now placed in La Glorieta

It is the third work that the sculptor Santiago de Santiago has made for Aguilas. Others are the monument dedicated to the Woman of Aguilas and the bust of Francisco Rabal

The bust that the sculptor Santiago de Santiago has created for our town is now placed in the gardens of the Plaza de España, opposite the Town Hall.
It is a bronze bust of King Charles III, the third work of Santiago created for the town of Aguilas, after the making of the monument dedicated to the Woman of Aguilas and the bust of the deceased actor Paco Rabal.

The ceremony of the uncovering of the bust was carried out with a huge media display and in the presence of Santiago de Santiago, Juan Ramirez, the Mayor, and the president of “Aguilas Residencial”, Fernando Guallar, the company that has donated the bust. Also, Luis Díaz, Official Chronicler of the town, several town councillors and members of the local Socialist party, as well as many directors and members of various associations and with the presence of citizens that wished to admire the brillant sculptor.

“I have tried to reflect the personality of King Charles III as faithful as possible. It has been a nice way to continue my work” Santiago de Santiago has also declared that he has still to finish an important work for Aguilas: a bust dedicated to the Fisherman of Aguilas.
