Sacristán receives title “Rabaliano del año”

All those present stated that Rabal is still alive

The Cultural Association “Milana Bonita. Paco Rabal in our memory ” celebrated this last Saturday the awarding ceremony for the nomination of “Rabaliano del año” (Rabaliano of the year). This is the second year that this Association honours with this award someone that worked with this actor of dearly loved memory or that has, in some way, been part of his universe.

In this occasion, the person that has received this year´s appointment is the very well known Spanish actor José Sacristán. Not only did he share the limelight in many films with our very much missed Paco Rabal but they also shared a very deep friendship.

The event, that was celebrated in the function room of the Hotel Cala Real. The event counted with the presence of Jordi Rebellón and Ginés García Millán, that, as “Rabalianos del año 2005”, were in charge of presenting the award to Jose Sacristán. Almost a hundred guests were witnesses to this event, including members of the Association, local political parties and other citizens. Jose Sacristán, who gave life to the unforgettable character Ditirambo, dedicated a warm speech to his colleague and close friend Francisco Rabal,and he highlighted “his huge generosity towards all those near him”. He also had very flattering words for all the activities of Associations such as “Milana Bonita”.

Memory and Feelings

The event was full of feelings and emotions. Emotions that were reflected not only in José Sacristán´s words to this missed actor after his nomination as “Rabaliano of the year” but also in the screening of a passage of the film “Epílogo” (Epilogue) where José Sacristán and Francisco Rabal worked together in 1984, directed by Gonzalo Suárez.
