One of the artists that performed en El Casino.
The Salón de los Espejos (Mirror Room) of the Casino has been the perfect setting, last Friday the 30th, for the performance of the multi-faceted artist Alberto Comesaña, that showed off, in this occasion his comic facet.
Comesaña, better known in the music world, for his interventions as a singer in music bands as “Semen Up” and “Amistades Peligrosas”, charmed and delighted a very numerous audience that assisted the show. He showed off, above all, his intelligent sense of humour, based on pure irony, with what declared by the artist, he pretends not only to make everyone laugh, but also to force people “to think”.
The artist entertained all of us there with a number of monologues having comic subtlety as the star of the show and dressed with, in a couple of moments, with music also used in a humorous way. The performance, included in the activity programme of the Casino for this Christmas season, also offered the performance of a young singer-songwriter, that was the opening act of the show.
Definitely, another good party night for our winter holidays.
The Kodaly Choir.
A great part of the functions organized by the Town Hall and carried out during these Christmas holidays has music as the main figure, proof of this is the performance of the Kodály Choir last Friday, 30th of December, in the church Iglesia de El Carmen.
The performance of this Choir from Molina de Segura (Murcia) started at 19,30 with the religious hymn “Exultate Iusti” and from then on, they alternated their songs with the celebration of mass.
Once finished the homily, they commenced a recital of Christmas carols, where the members of this musical formation sang clasic carols as “White Christmas” and “Silent Night”, also others that are not so well known as “En mísero establo” (In the Stable) or “Festejos de Navidad” (Christmas Festivities). This last song is a very popular Christmas carol in Peru.
The performance of this Choir was carried out in the choir area of the parish which highlighted , even more if possible, the acoustic.
Their performance was enjoyed by alll those that assisted and everyone was surprised by the musical quality of this Choir. Kodály, directed by José Bermejo were very happy and satisfied with their performance and once concluded they were, of course, awarded with the applause of all those that assisted. This performance was the last act of the Christmas musical programme.
South medical centre.
Last year´s influenza epidemic, that affected Aguilas in such great numbers, has not been detected in town yet. According to the information supplied by the Town Councillor of the Heatlth department, Ana Miñarro,“up to now, only a few cases have been treated, those normal for this time of the year but in any case, for the moment, we can not say that there is an epidemic like last year”.
Members of the band organized a very original moment.
The Banda Titular that belongs to the Music Trust of Aguilas Francisco Díaz Romero offered, this past 29th of December, an Extraordinary Christmas Concert, being the conductor Juan Rojo García. All the members of this musical group created great excitement in the audience with the performance of the compositions “Symphony number 45”, “El Quijote”, “The Toy Sym phony” and “Call to Heros” amongst others.
Besides, and as a novelty this year, the members of the Band organized a very original setting: they lit up the stage with candles while performing “Symphony number 45”. In this way they wished to recreate the historical period that it belongs to.
We would also like to highlight the performance of Alonso Paredes with the masterpiece “El Quijote”.
Alonso Paredes was the narrator of a selection of passages of this great novel with the musical background of the band.
The performance came to an end with the Hymn “Águilas, Paraíso del Mediterráneo” (Águilas, Mediterranean Paradise”) and with the rapturous ovation from the audiencia, that once more, was very satisfied with the performance of the band.
There has been many acts programmed for this Christmas Season by the Musical Trust of Águilas, all counting with great acceptance.
