The Mayor converses with the Environment Councillor.

Last Tuesday, 17th of January, the Mayor of Águilas, Juan Ramírez Soto, and the Councillor of the Health and Environment Commission, Juan Pérez, visited the instalations of the Ecopark. They inaugurated a new environmental lecture room that will be destinied to the future development of conferences of “introduction and interpretation of selective collection”.

The project has been made possible thanks to the signed agreement between the Town Hall of Águilas and the Autonomous Region of Murcia, that has paid out the amount of 10.000 Euros that has been dedicated to equip this lecture room to be able to develop activities related to environment issues.

During their visit to the instalations, the Mayor wished to point out the importance of this service, he also declared that “the biggest advantage will be to be able to teach each and every child all those subjects related to environmental matters and with the selective collection”. Besides, Ramírez, pointed out that the Town Hall has made contacts with local schools and highschools to start in this lecture room courses and different activities in the shortest time possible. In this way, the Mayor has stated that “the Town Councillor of the Education Department is preparing a plan to be able to start with all these activities this next month of February.

After the inauguration of this lecture room, Juan Ramírez pointed out that the next project related to environmental subjects will be the endowment, with the same resources, to the Ecopark in Calabardina. “We have already requested the grant and we believe that it will become a reality during this year”.
